GoodTerms: $49 CAD, one-time payment
Three Canadian agreement generations
Last updated: September 7, 2026
GoodTerms helps you prepare a Canadian agreement. HelloPrenup builds prenups under U.S. state law. Here is how their prices, editing options and lawyer support compare.
Prices are in different currencies. Neither base price includes a lawyer. HelloPrenup does not currently offer Canadian agreements.
Three Canadian agreement generations
A prenup for a supported U.S. state
For a Canadian agreement, GoodTerms is the relevant starting point. HelloPrenup may fit if you need a prenup governed by a supported U.S. state. Start with where your agreement needs to work, then compare the cost and level of help.
GoodTerms: Canadian templates, three generations, and editable Word files.
HelloPrenup: U.S. prenups with optional attorney representation.
Ties to both countries: get legal advice on jurisdiction before choosing a service.
| Category | GoodTerms | HelloPrenup |
|---|---|---|
| Where it works | Agreement templates for all ten Canadian provinces, including Quebec marriage-contract preparation. | Prenups governed by supported U.S. states. Its international waitlist says it is not yet available outside the United States. |
| Base price | $49 CAD, paid once, for three agreement generations. No subscription. | US$599 per couple for the prenup platform. Attorney representation costs extra. |
| Changes and downloads | Generate up to three versions, then download PDF and editable Word files. Editing the Word file does not use a credit. | Unlimited edits before signing and a final PDF download. |
| Agreement types | Prenup, postnup and cohabitation templates, with room for custom terms. | The HelloPrenup platform focuses on prenups. It links to a separate postnup product. |
| Lawyer support | Each partner can request a separate Canadian lawyer referral. You arrange the scope and fees directly with the lawyer. | Optional U.S. attorney representation at US$799 per partner. The US$2,197 package includes the platform and two attorneys. |
The platform fee is only part of the decision. A little preparation helps you choose the right service and budget for the advice you need.
Tell your lawyer where you live, where your assets are and whether you plan to move. Canadian and U.S. agreement rules are different.
Bring account balances, property details, debts and business records. Agree on your main priorities before drafting.
Keep CAD and USD separate. Add each partner's legal fees and any revisions or signing services to your budget.
Each partner should obtain independent advice before signing. In Quebec, arrange the marriage-contract process with a notary.
Not for a Canadian agreement. Its availability page, checked September 7, 2026, says it currently offers U.S. prenups and has an international waitlist. Living in Canada does not turn a U.S. prenup into a Canadian agreement.
The base prices are $49 CAD for GoodTerms and US$599 for HelloPrenup. They serve different jurisdictions, and neither base price includes individual legal representation. Compare the full cost of the service that fits your agreement.
No. GoodTerms lawyer referrals have separate fees agreed directly with the lawyer. HelloPrenup offers paid U.S. attorney add-ons, including a US$2,197 package with two attorneys. Quebec notary fees are also separate from GoodTerms.
GoodTerms publishes this comparison and sells a competing service. Public sources were checked September 7, 2026. We did not create or pay for a HelloPrenup account; this comparison covers published features and prices, not hands-on testing or the legal quality of completed agreements.
